The event, promoted by the Deputation of Pontevedra, took place at the IFEVI fairgrounds.
Skidding to the limit, explosions, smoke, and flames. The vice president of the Pontevedra Provincial Council, Luisa Sánchez, had the opportunity this Monday morning to experience the world of Drift firsthand. A unique experience that she also shared with some members of the press and which was the icing on the cake with which the provincial entity wanted to conclude the presentation event of the 18th edition of Galiexpo MotorShow.
Very committed to the world of motorsport in recent times, the Deputation has thus shown its support for what, as the vice president pointed out, “is the only motorshow on the peninsula”. “An event more than consolidated”, emphasized Luisa Sánchez, regarding an edition with more important figures than ever and that the provincial representative wanted to highlight: 50,000 square meters of exhibition, more than 100 companies present and, above all, some of the events in which Deputation of Pontevedra will participate directly. Among others, the talks that will take place on Friday at IFEVI stand out: the well-known motor content creator Ángel Gaitán in the morning, as well as -and from 18:30 hours- the businessman and speaker on resilience issues Fernando Vega de Seoane or the entire Recalvi rally team that has just achieved, with the help of the Asturian driver José Antonio ‘Cohete’ Suárez, the first victory in a European Championship (ERC) event.
Joaquín Portabales, the face of Galiexpo and representing the organizing committee, wanted to once again thank all the institutions and companies that, year after year, support an event that is “growing”; he also had words of gratitude for all the people involved in organizing Galiexpo MotorShow, “of whom there are over 100,” and especially for the role of “Luisa Sánchez and her entire team, for delivering on their promise. A year ago, when she came to visit Galiexpo, Luisa asked me: What do you need to grow?... and here we are today, with more exhibitors, more shows, and the presence of 15 international companies.”.
DRIFT
Pilots Martín Tilve and Adrián Fernández were responsible for closing out the Diputación event with a drift exhibition, while taking members of the press along as co-pilots. They will be part of the drift lineup at this edition of Galiexpo MotorShow. Along with Luis Ogando, they will be the only ones returning from the 2025 edition. The rest are new additions, including the Catalan Carlos de Barco and the Portuguese Miguel Peixoto and Pedro Sousa, among others.
